Just choose the distance you want to keep from the car in front of you and it can take some of the stress out of everyday driving by helping with steering, braking, and throttle control while maintaining a safe distance ahead.

All-Around Awareness Technologies

The 2024 Forester features an entire suite of available safety technologies to help protect you and your passengers. The Blind-Spot Detection system warns you with a visual indicator on each side mirror if it senses a vehicle in your blind spots. Rear Cross-Traffic Alert helps warn you of traffic approaching from the side as you are backing up. With available Reverse Automatic Braking, your vehicle can even stop itself to help avoid objects behind you.

Subaru DriverFocus® Distraction Mitigation System

The 2024 Forester features a state-of-the-art system to help reduce distracted driving for both new and experienced drivers. Each day in the United States, more than 1,000 people are injured in crashes reported to have involved a distracted driver. Working with our award-winning EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, the DriverFocus system is like having an attentive co-pilot along for the ride, available to give a helpful alert if a driver becomes distracted or drowsy. For added convenience, DriverFocus can also recognize up to five different drivers and remember their preferences, including seat position, climate settings, and outside mirror position.

A SUBARU STARLINK Multimedia system with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration comes standard on the 2024 Forester. Wireless Bluetooth® pairing and hands-free smartphone operation allow for safe and easy connection to your favorite apps and content. An 8-inch touchscreen is available, as well as a built-in and voice-activated navigation system powered by TomTom®.

Plenty of Cargo Room with Extra-Wide Rear Gate Opening

Haul more gear for your adventures with up to 74.2 cubic feet of cargo space and easily load and unload large items with an extra-wide rear gate opening. A Power Rear Gate is available to allow opening and closing even when your hands are occupied and opens, closes, and locks the entire vehicle with the touch of a button. The Forester adapts to bring longer items by simply adjusting the 60/40-split flat-folding rear seats.

For better traction in all kinds of conditions, the Forester Wilderness features standard Yokohama GEOLANDAR® A/T all-terrain tires mounted to unique 17-inch matte black-finish alloy wheels. You’ll feel free to explore even farther down the trail with a full-size spare wheel and tire stored below the cargo area.

Enhanced Dual-Function X-MODE®

The dual-function X-MODE is upgraded and retuned, with settings for snow, dirt, deep snow, and mud that allow additional wheel slip to power through adverse conditions.

SUBARU BOXER® Engine and Revised Drivetrain Gearing

Along with the time-tested reliability of its direct-injection SUBARU BOXER engine, the Forester Wilderness drivetrain features retuned gearing with revised ratios for improved low-speed climbing – up to a 40 percent grade. You can bring along even more gear and adventure equipment with an upgraded towing capacity of up to 3,000 pounds – that’s more weight than the Ford Bronco Sport Badlands can handle.
